Tottenham under pressure to sack the cost-expensive Mourinho

Wed 17 February 2021 | 16:50

The Spurs face a great challenge as they weigh down their coaching situation with Mourinho, which could cost them great fortune.

According to recent reports,

chairman, Daniel Levy has chosen to keep faith with Jose Mourinho since sacking the Spurs head-coach as reported by

A Bola

could cost them up to £34.8m.

Despite taking the

Premier League

’s leadership back in December, the Spurs have failed to maintain their position by only winning three out their last 12 top-flight games.

The Portuguese’s current contract extends till 2022-23 season and if the Spurs choose to part ways with Mourinho it could leave them with a £40m debt.

Tottenham just recently stopped paying Mauricio Pochettino for his sacking back in 2019 after he took charge of

Paris Saint-Germain

and with the current financial pressures caused by the pandemic firing Mourinho doesn’t seem like a good solution for the north Londoners.
