Marco Rose insists he’s focused on his job at Gladbach

Monchengladbach confirmed the manager will leave his position to become Borussia Dortmund’s head coach this summer.

However, the 44-year-old insists he will remain focused on his work at

Gladbach

until the end of the season, he told reporters on Wednesday:

"Despite my move in the summer, 100% of my energy is in my work here.

"There had been pressure growing, so I had to make a gut decision and the challenge in Dortmund is what appeals to me."

A €5 million release clause in the German’s Gladbach contract will be activated by Dortmund.

"We have held a lot of open talks over the last weeks and days,"

said Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl.

"Marco has made a decision that is completely in line with his contract. I take responsibility that Marco was able to make this decision.

"Of course I'm disappointed with Marco's decision, but I'm 100% convinced that he will give his all to have success with this club until his last day. Therefore, there have been no considerations to remove Marco before then."
