Paredes admits PSG locker room talks about potential Messi move

Mon 15 February 2021 | 19:07

In front of the match in Champions League's round of 16 against Barcelona on Tuesday, the Argentinian midfielder admitted his teammates are aware of summer move prospects.

Paris Saint-Germain's obsession with Lionel Messi has not exclusively been public confronting, as Leandro Paredes told columnists there had been talks about Barcelona's star "a great deal" in the PSG locker room.

The conflicts among French and Catalan powerhouses got hotter after Paredes' teammates had as of late offered indicative remarks in the media about Messi conceivably joining PSG this late spring, which agitated Barcelona head coach

Ronald Koeman

"Having Messi against us will force us to defend well but we will do our best to have a good game, have the ball and make sure that he does not put us in difficulty," Paredes told reporters.

He continued on Messi potentially joining PSG:

"We talked about it a lot in the locker room but now I don't want to talk about it anymore. It's an important game and we are only focused on this game."

While Paredes probably will not have a clue about the specifics of Messi's intentions about going into the following transfer window, they have shared the pitch together in the Argentina national team.
