The ex-Newcastle striker Salomon Rondon joins CSKA Moscow

The Venezuela international has signed a loan deal with CSKA Moscow until the season ends.

; however, the Venezuelan striker is out on a temporary basis, unlike the former Spanish manager.

Rondon scores one goal on a two-game average in the Chinese Super League and has come back to Russia following his loan moves away at Rubin Kazan and Zenit St Petersburg, where he had contributed to a league title. The Venezuela international is trying to deliver at the Russian capital club as well.

Rondon took it to Twitter to announce his move, saying: "

The 31-year-old striker spent the 2018-19 season playing for


. He netted 12 goals in 33 games, helping the Magpies avoid the relegation zone, with Benitez interested in putting pen to paper for a permanent deal with the Venezuelan. However, the club did not sign with him and he moved to Dalian Pro.
