Ederson told me how to defeat Loris - Rodri

Rodri emphasized that he relied on his own confidence when he stood behind the penalty.

Manchester City

star Rodri has claimed that goalkeeper Ederson has given him advice on defeating Hugo Loris, but in the end he ignored it.

City beat Tottenham 3-0 in this week's crucial game to strengthen their place at the top of the table. In the 20th minute, a foul was made on Gundogan in the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty. Rodri managed to score his team's first goal from the penalty spot, and now claimed that Ederson had given him advice to defeat Loris, which, of course, he did not pay attention to.

"Goalkeepers know each other, Ederson told me some points about Lloris, I didn't listen! I was confident in shooting in the way I did," Rodri told

Sky Sports.

"I was a bit angry in the last weeks because we missed many penalties, much more than we expected to, and in big games you have to score penalties.

"I was angry, I told my team-mates in the week that the next time we have a penalty I'll grab the ball and no one will take it away from me. Fortunately, I scored but the win is the most important thing."

With this victory, City kept their differences with the rivals, and now, if

United

wins against West Bromwich Albion, they can reduce their distance with City by 5 points with one more game played.
