Chelsea legend John Terry has claimed that Mason Mount could become the future captain ofChelsea
and the England national team.
Mount wore the club's captain's armband during the FA Cup match against Luton Town, becoming the youngest Chelsea captain since John Terry in 2001. The 22-year-old midfielder has been a key player for Chelsea and his country's national team and has played 13 national games for England since 2019.
Terry praised the young star and claimed that he could be the captain of his country's club and national team in the future.
He said on Instagram Live: “Mason Mount is 100 per cent future Chelsea captain. He’s been the best player at Chelsea this season to be honest.
“He’s a great lad, trains unbelievably well, is Chelsea through and through and shows leadership qualities.
“In my mind he’ll be Chelsea and England captain.”
Currently, Cesar Azpilicueta is the captain of Chelsea and Jorginho is the second vice captain.
