Ballack urges Jamal Musiala to pick Germany's shirt over England's

Wed 10 February 2021 | 8:18

The former Germany captain Michael Ballack says Die Mannschaft should call up Bayern Munich adolescent Jamal Musiala if the England Under-21 star wishes to do so.

In the wake of making his debut in June 2020, Bayern starlet Musiala has become a regular pick in the

Bundesliga

champions' first-team squad, playing in 15 games while finding the net three times this season.

The 17-year-old moved from Chelsea's youth institution to Bayern in July 2019 prior to turning into Bayern's most youthful ever senior player and their youngest goalscorer.

Brought into the world in Stuttgart to a German mother and an English-Nigerian dad, Musiala moved to London when he was seven-year-old and represented England's jersey from Under-15 to U21 levels, just as Germany U16s.

Even though he last played for England against Albania in November 2020, Musiala stays qualified for the two countries, and it has been accounted for that a back-and-forth has been continuous for quite a while.

The starlet has supposedly been reached by England head coach

Gareth Southgate

and Germany's

Joachim Low

; however, Ballack demanded Musiala should possibly play for Die Mannschaft on the off chance that he is entirely dedicated.

"We talk about the German national team. It should consist of players that meet the requirements and really want to play for this team," Ballack, who has 98 caps for Germany, told Stats Perform News.

"It also needs to meet the rules and everything else needs to be decided from the national coach."
