Bayern's Flick praised Al Ahly’s manager Pitso Mosimane

Sun 07 February 2021 | 14:16

Bayern Munich head coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, lauded Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane in front of their face-off in the Club World Cup.

As European kings, Bayern Munich have advanced to the

Club World Cup

's semi-finals, where they will play against Egypt's Al Ahly.

The Bavarians needed to beat Qatar champions

Al-Duhail SC

in a tight 1-0 triumph because of Hussein El-Shahat's goal.

On top of things, Flick said that they planned on winning the competition and argued to apprehend Al Ahly's style of play.

"We had to win the

Champions League

in order to get here. We have a match almost every 3 days, so we have to take it step by step in training," said the 55-year-old during the pre-match press conference.

"From today we will work on intensive training for the match against Al Ahly,"

"Our goal is to win the tournament, and we know that it is a burden on us. But we are excited and want to end the season by winning our sixth title.

"Of course, we have our way of playing, with which we were able to win many matches. Our first goal is to win this match, but it is important to always keep your eyes on the opponent."

"Al Ahly is a team that wants to play well and plays in different ways in attack. They play with two offensive full-back.

"The coach is great. I sat with him for a short time, but I like his style very much," he concluded.

Pitso Mosimane

has an ideal record so far since being at the helm of Al Ahly in October of a year ago, with 18 wins and four draws in his 22 games.

He will want to hold that record next Monday, in what will without a doubt be his most significant test yet.
