Barella told Sky Sport Italia
“It’s never easy in Florence, but we proved that we are a great team. It’s also true to say we could’ve sealed it earlier and made the most of some scoring opportunities, but we got the job done.”
Former Juventus and Italy midfielder Claudio Marchisio praised Barella on Twitter.
“As an ex-midfielder, I cannot help but admire the constant growth and talent of Nicolò Barella,”
“Such a young player, already mature and complete. Inter fans are fortunate, but even more fortunate is our Italy squad.”
Barella was thankful for Marchisio's compliment and admitted there are still areas in which he needs to improve.
“I thank him, Marchisio was such a great player. I do see myself in him a little bit, even though he scored more goals than I do. I realize that I ought to score more and I can do better. I thank the team because they put me in the position to do everything that I need to.”
