Pique asks Victor Font to eliminate tweet containing his picture

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique posted a message on his Twitter account and asked Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font to delete a tweet he had posted including a video interview by Pique.

“Victor, with all respect, these words have nothing to do with what you are trying to convey in this tweet,”

he wrote

. “I ask you to delete it and not use my image for your benefit. Thank you.”

“it’s time to look to the future. The past only serves to help you learn from mistakes,”

alongside a video where

Pique

says that he hopes Barcelona’s members vote

“looking to the future” because “looking to the past is only to learn from mistakes. Nothing more.”

Font quickly replied saying

“Gerard, we have used this reflection of yours because it’s in our line of thought. In no case did we want to create any problem for you. We eliminated it. We hope to see you again soon on the pitch. A hug.”

Barcelona

have been overshadowed by the upcoming elections in recent months. It was expected to be held on 24 January but because of the rise in COVID-19 cases in Spain, it was postponed and will take place on 7 March.
