The Portuguese player has been forced to self-isolate ahead of their UCL clash with Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid

striker,

Joao Felix

, could miss their upcoming Champions League clash with

Chelsea

after it was confirmed that the player has tested positive for coronavirus.

The club confirmed the player’s diagnosis on

Twitter

, stating:

"Our player Joao Felix has tested positive for Covid-19.”

"He’s isolating at home, in compliance with the health authorities’ guidelines."

The

Portugal

international, who showed no signs of infection in their recent win over

Cadiz

, joined his teammates,

Yannick Carrasco

and

Mario Hermoso

, four days after it was reported that the two have also tested positive for Covid-19.

Though Felix could be out of self-isolation by the time of their Champions League encounter with Chelsea, there are still some concerns over this issue whether the player will be back to full fitness or not.

As Felix spends his time in self-isolation, Atletico Madrid are expected to face

Celta Vigo

and

Granada

before they hopefully welcome back their young star.
