The Serie A boss was disappointed by his player’s performance following their 2-1 loss to Pirlo’s men.
head-coach, Antonio Conte, insisted thatAlexis Sanchez
must put more effort into scoring following their Coppa Italia semi-final defeat toJuventus
The Chilean has only been able to score on two occasions in his 21 appearances with Inter this season and though Conte was hoping that Sanchez would make up forRomelu Lukaku
’s absence, he was faced with nothing but disappointment.
Criticizing the player, Conte said:
"I don't know if he was tired, of course he tried to give his best in the game, but he has to be more clinical when it comes to scoring goals. Numbers for [judging] the strikers are merciless, and his numbers must be better."
The 32-year-old, who was previously considered in a swap deal forRoma
, needs to regain his form with Inter, as told by Conte back in January.
“I won’t talk about Edin Dzeko to Inter because he’s a Roma player. If there’s some players unhappy here, we’ll be ready to open negotiations. I’m not asking to sign Dzeko, it’s up to the club. Sanchez is our player, I want him to be focused on the next match,"
