Watford sign Dennis Bergkamp’s son
Watford announced they have completed the signing of Mitchel Bergkamp, son of former Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp.
The 22-year-old, who spent time on trial with
Arsenalearlier this season, has joined the Hornets’ Under-23s on a six-month contract with an option of a further deal, subject to international clearance.
The attacking midfielder, who spent nine years with
Almere City
, followed the footsteps of his father by moving to England this year to further his career.
Mitchel's father Dennis won three Premier League titles during his 11-year spell with Arsenal.
"When I was younger it was difficult [to be compared all the time] but I've adapted to it now,"
Mitchel told Watford's official website

"It's just my name and I'm my own player and hopefully I can leave my own legacy. He's been amazing to me and for me. He's my number one fan and has always been there for me.
"It's a privilege to have him as my dad and to work with him on my game."
