Tuchel talks about his new job

Chelsea’s new manager says that he is excited to be there.

head coach after Abramovich sacked Lampard. The Blues have experienced five defeats in their last eight Premier League matches, so Abramovich decided to Sack the club’s former player after working as Chelsea’s manager for one and a half years.

Thomas Tuchel was without a job for the last six months after he was sacked by PSG. He says that he is excited about his new job and looks forward to starting his work at Stamford Bridge.

"I would like to thank Chelsea FC for their confidence in me and my staff,"

Tuchel told the club's website.

"We all have the greatest respect for Frank Lampard’s work and the legacy he created at Chelsea. At the same time, I cannot wait to meet my new team and compete in the most exciting league in football.

"I am grateful to now be part of the Chelsea family - it feels amazing!"

Tuchel’s first match as Chelsea’s manager is against Wolves on Wednesday where the Blues will try to bounce back into the title race.

Chelsea’s Director Marina Granovskaia has welcomed the manager and talked about the club’s gratitude for Lampard’s hard work at the club.

"It is never easy to change head coach in the middle of the season but we are very happy to secure one of Europe’s best coaches in Thomas Tuchel. There is still much to play for and much to achieve, this season and beyond. We welcome Thomas to the club."
