Nevertheless, Simeone has refused to carry him into the squad yet, as he keeps on chipping away at his fitness and form behind closed doors in Madrid.
The 24-year-old striker was an unused substitute in Atletico's 3-1 triumph over Valencia a weekend ago; however, Simeone has affirmed he is practically prepared for his Los Rojiblancos debut.
“Dembele didn’t play because I felt it wasn’t the right time for him to do it (against Valencia),” he told an interview with Mundo Deportivo.
“He is training well and he will soon have his chance.
“Luis Suarez was playing a very good game (against Valencia) so there was no reason to take him out.”
Atletico expanded their lead at the highest point of the standings to seven points with a crucial victory over Javi Gracia's side at Metropolitano Stadium. Simeone's men also held a game close by advantage over Real Madrid.
Atletico Madrid will go to Cadiz for Primera Division action one weekend from now, and Dembele is probably going to have some impact at the Nuevo Estadio Ramon de Carranza.
