Bailly left out as a precaution - Solskjaer

The United manager decided not to take any risks in yesterday's match and not to play Bailly.

Manchester United

manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that Eric Bailly was out of the FA Cup match against Liverpool yesterday to prevent his injury from escalating.

The Red Devils' defense was made up of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in last night's 3-2 win. This combination has been less used by the Norwegian coach and Bailly has been able to find a place in the team with his good performances. He has played 13 games this season and is back in good form despite injuries. However, he recently suffered an injury and Solskjaer decided not to play him in last night's match to avoid further injury.

“Eric will be available [to face Sheffield United].

“It was just a little thing that I didn’t want to risk him. We had cover on the bench and Victor was ready so there was no point on taking a risk with Eric.

“He’s fine, there’s no problem. I can’t say if he’s playing or not, but he’s fit and available for selection for Wednesday.”
