Hertha Berlin have decided to cut ties with the head coach and general manager.

It has been reported that

Hertha Berlin

sacked the head coach,

Bruno Labbadia

an hour ago due to the continuous poor results in Bundesliga. Hertha also fired the general manager,

Michael Preetz

Hertha Berlin chairman,

Carsten Schmidt

confirmed the news:

"Week in, week out, Bruno and his coaching staff have invested a lot of hard work into the team's development and we would like to thank him greatly for that.

"Ultimately, however, the return of 17 points from 18 games leaves us in a very precarious situation.

"After much deliberation, we feel that a change of head coach can give the team fresh impetus. We will clarify his successor as head coach in the coming days."

Labbadia, who took charge of Hertha Berlin in April 2020, was sacked just one day after a heavy 4-1 home defeat to

Werder Bremen

According to Bild, 44-year-old former Hertha Berlin midfielder and Hungary international,

Pal Dardai

, is expected to replace Labbadia.

With 17 points out of their 18 games, Hertha are sitting 14

in Bundesliga table.
