Ryan Bertrand is viewed as a possible option for being signed as a left-back player of Arsenal.
After giving away
Sead Kolasinacon a loan to Schalke 04,
Mikel Arteta
is now trying to fill the gap in the left-back area until the January transfer window is not closed.
Kolasinac's leaving makes
Tierney
the only Left-back on the team.
As sources have said,
Ryan Bertrandhas been viewed as an appropriate substitution for the 27-year-old.
Bertrand joined
Southamptonin 2014 on a loan and completed his move in 2015. He signed a 5-year contract with his current club which expires on 12 July 2021.
He will be a free agent in July. But selling him now would make it possible for his current club to gain money out of the deal.
The 31-year-old has asked to be paid before signing a new deal.
Arteta has also signed
Mathew Ryan
as a goalkeeper. About the Southampton player, he said:
“The option is open and we will look to see what is available. With the departure of Kola, we are a little bit short with left-footed full-backs at the moment.
“We know we can use Ainsley [Maitland-Niles] there, we can use Bukayo [Saka] there and we can use Cedric [Soares] - who has played in that position - so we have some options. A natural option to Kieran? Obviously we don't, but we can adapt.”
