Mandzukic: ‘I have been preparing for this opportunity’

“I’m ready for this challenge, it’s important for me to be ready for the team as soon as possible,” the Croatian player said.

“I’m very happy to be at Milan and I have been preparing for this opportunity. At Milanello, there’s a really nice atmosphere, it’s nice to be there.

“I want to do the best I possibly can.”

Milan are now top of the Serie A table after 18 games and Mandzukic is impressed by the young squad.

“They are a really young team, I have seen several games and I like their spirit,” he added. “Although there are many young players, this team are very combative.

“I will play alongside these young people. I’m a professional, I want to do my job the best possible way.”

“Zlatan and I have many games in our legs and we are experts,” he said. “It’s important to inject fear, protect the teammates and then fight, as everyone in the group does.”
