£5,000 donated to Leeds school for remote learning by Bamford

A primary school located in Leeds expressed gratitude towards Patrick Bamford for ‘shining a light in these dark times’ when he contributed to children’s better online learning during the pandemic by donating £5,000.

offered help to Beeston Primary School located near Elland Road, and the school spent the money buying 20 new iPads loaning them “to those most in need”.

Bethan Tidey, Deputy head teacher, stated: “

We are blown away by Patrick’s generosity. The past year has been incredibly difficult for families, in particular those struggling to access remote learning at home.

“This incredible donation has allowed us to buy 20 new iPads which will be loaned to those most in need.

“This will greatly improve the home learning experience for some of our most vulnerable children and will also be a fantastic addition to the school when children are eventually back in classrooms.

“We want to say a huge thank you to Patrick for shining a light in these dark times, it will not be forgotten.”

The 27-year-old has also tried to persuade schoolchildren to keep up their hard work through a video message.

Councillor Jonathan Pryor said: “

This is a very generous gesture by Patrick.

“It’s fantastic to hear about something so positive happening in very challenging times. It makes me incredibly proud to see Leeds continuing to pull together.”

Bamford has found the target 10 times in this season of the

Premier League

. He joined the club in 2018 with a £10million price tag.
