Former La Liga player, Arda Turan is going to be re-tried in a Turkish court due to sexual harassment charges which he was acquitted of the accusations earlier.
The ex-Turkey international played for
Atletico Madrid
and
Barcelona
in the past, while he finally moved out of Spanish football last summer and joined Istanbul-based team, Galatasaray.
Despite being acquitted of sexual harassment charge in 2019, he is about to have a re-trial after a Turkish court revoked the decision.
Arda
was imprisoned for shooting a gun which he had no license in a hospital for two years and eight months in Turkey – however, he will not be jailed unless he commits another crime in the next five years.
Arda
involved himself in a fight that left pop star Berkay Sahin with a broken nose at an Istanbul nightclub and it was claimed that the player had a gun.
The charges he's going to face are sexual harassment, inflicting intentional injuries and shooting a firearm in a way to cause panic and carrying weapons without a license.
