Marca reports that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with David Alaba and that the player is set to be Los Blancos' first signing for next season.

Several European giants, including

Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool

and

Chelsea

, were looking to sign the 28-year-old

Bayern Munich

defender.

David Alaba,

however, had clearly shown his desire to play in La Liga and

Real Madrid

.

Marca has now reported that Alaba will join Real Madrid on a four-year deal with an annual salary of around €11 million.

Alaba will join Real Madrid in the summer after the end of his contract with Bayern Munich.

He has been free to negotiate since the beginning of the winter transfer window. It is reported that Alaba has already undergone the Real Madrid medical tests.

Bayern had made three offers to Alaba in recent months, but in November the club's CEO,

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

, confirmed that the negotiations had failed.

The Austria international has scored 32 goals and 49 assists in his 408 appearances for Bayern Munich and helped the team to win 25 titles, including two Champions League and nine Bundesliga titles.

Alaba is considered as one of the best defenders in the world.
