Zlatan: ‘Young people motivate me’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted young players challenge him and are his motivation after another brace against Cagliari.

believes Milan must target to claim Scudetto and dream big.

The 39-year-old forward grabbed his brace against

Cagliari

to give the Rossoneri a 2-0 victory after being away for almost two months.

“I had to do another one,”

he said

. “It took two to win. It was a difficult game.

“I didn’t play for 57 days, I’m sorry. It can happen.”

Young attacking trident supported Ibrahimovic in the absence of Hakan Calhanoglu, who is out of action due to positive COVID-19, but he said the young players keep motivating him to do more.

“Young people motivate me, they challenge me to see who runs more,”

he added

. “I don’t give up and show that I can run like them.

“We are doing well, we are almost halfway through the championship. Now, the most difficult games are starting.

“It will be a very tough program, but with Mandzukic, [Soualiho] Meite, I don’t know if more people will arrive.”

Zlatan had previously said he believes Milan should aim to win the Scudetto and dream big, but when asked if he believes in the championship, he replied

: “I believe in Zlatan.”

He responded to the usual question about the possible renewal with Milan.

“It depends on him, on Paolo [Maldini]. I’m very happy at Milan. This return to Milan has changed me a lot. I’m very happy.”
