Mon 18 January 2021 | 19:22

The Spaniard joined Getafe on a loan till the end of the season.

Barcelona

player,

Carles Alena

, sent a message to the Catalonians manager,

Ronald Koeman

, after joining

Getafe

on a loan. The 23-year-old, who was involved in one of Barca’s game for the season, left for Madrid in hope of a more regular spot.

Considering that Getafe don’t have the option to buy the player, Alena is expected to return to

Camp Nou

by the end of the campaign.

According to

Marca

, Alena told the reporters about his loan-move while addressing Koeman, saying:

“I don’t think he failed me or anything. In the end there are players who are ahead according to the coach. You have to be brave when you see that you do not have minutes on the pitch.”

“I could have stayed quietly but I could not go without playing for a long time and I knew that it was difficult to turn it around. Maybe he did not like that. Bordalás did give me that confidence.”

“There was interest from a long time ago. I wanted to come here. I didn’t want to hear many more things, it became a very easy decision.”

In the previous season Alena was loaned to

Real Betis

where he made 19 appearances and scored one goal.
