Del Piero: 'Juventus switched off for the whole game'

Mon 18 January 2021 | 10:08

Alessandro Del Piero is worried about Juventus after their last game against Inter, but he also believes absences should be taken into consideration.

Juventus

legend

Alessandro Del Piero

has expressed his worries about the Old Lady after they lost 2-0 against

Inter

on Sunday.

Juventus are now seven points behind

Serie A

table leaders Milan.

“Juventus switched off for the whole game, I think that’s the most worrying thing,” Del Piero said.

“It happened in the past too, they may give away the first half, but they always managed to recover in the second half.

“However, Juventus had always won important games this season, think about the matches against Milan and Barcelona."

Paulo Dybala

and

Matthijs de Ligt

were unavailable for Sunday’s game due to injury and

Juan Cuadrado

and

Alex Sandro

were also unable to play as they have tested positive for COVID-19.

“Neither [Andrea] Pirlo nor [Giorgio] Chiellini spoke about the absences," Del Piero said.

"Those of Cuadrado and Alex Sandro are important and the fact that they weren’t mentioned means the group is solid and concentrated and players are aware they must go through these heavy defeats to improve.”
