Garcia's contract is set to expire in the summer and Barcelona have decided to wait till then to sign the player for free.

Eric Garcia

was a target for

Barcelona

during the summer transfer window but the high price tag has changed their decision. They preferred to wait until January to sign him with a better deal but it looks like it’s not going to happen in this transfer window as well.

The presidential candidates of Barcelona have decided to wait until the president is known before making any deal with players. Goal revealed earlier this week that Barca and Garcia had agreed personal terms, but work still needed to be done to persuade City to sell in January.

Garcia’s contract with

Manchester City

will be expired in the summer and he has no plan to extend his contract with the Citizens. Joan Laporta is expected to become the president of Barcelona and he believes the club should wait until summer so they can sign him as a free agent. Laporta has plans for the financial situation of Barcelona and he wants to reconstruct the hierarchy in the club.
