Notwithstanding his impressive performance and consistent figure at Lazio in the past few seasons, he has not been summoned for international duty. Based on the reports, the 28-year-old is trying to open his way back before the European Championship starts in the summer.

The ex-Barcelona manager will lead his first game following his comeback in March when Spain is starting their qualification campaign for the 2022 World Cup with battles against Greece, Kosovo, and Georgia.
