Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane initially wanted Borja Mayoral to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and let Jovic out on loan in the summer.

Now

Jovic

has joined

Eintracht Frankfurt

while

Mayoral

is gracing in Italy with

Roma

, scoring a goal per 124 minutes and providing four assists.

Karim Benzema

is the best among Real Madrid strikers with averaging a goal every 151 minutes while

Jovic

and

Diaz

have a rate of 208 and 275 minutes for a goal. So Zidane’s idea to keep Mayoral as the backup to Benzema was right, however, it did not work out.

Roma have an option to make Mayoral’s deal permanent at the end of his two-year loan contract. €15m this season or €20m at the end of the second season.

Real Madrid

are desperate to find a backup forward to Benzema after sending Jovic on loan back to Germany.
