The Liverpool youngster joined the French side to gain first-team experience.

in Ligue

2 so he can get some game time and gain first-team experience. The 21 had no change at Liverpool as he had to compete with Andry Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas. The local boy was hoping to use his time in France so he can come back and a place in Liverpool.

However, making just nine league appearances, the young defender did not get any more chances by the manager Oswald Tanchot. The reason for that, according to an article from Courrier Picard in December, is that he

‘failed to convince the staff’

at Amiens, and there was already talk of him ‘not wanting to return’ after the midseason break.

That has since been confirmed by RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi, who has reported on Tuesday that Lewis ‘will leave Amiens’ and

‘will return to England’.

Reports suggest that he has already back in England for a break and might just stay there to avoid an unnecessary trip.
