Papu Gomez criticizes Gian Piero Gasperini on his social media after the manager said the Argentinean did not respond to transitions.
Alejandro Papu Gomez
is set to leave in January following an argument with the team manager
Gian Piero Gasperini
Since December, Gomez has played only 37 minutes in Serie A, Gasperini reported that their relationship deteriorated because Gomez did not respond to transitions.
It was a choice dictated by other factors. The decision was made because I need to find a different type of team,
” he told Sky Sport on Saturday.
“We were struggling at that moment and Gomez was not adapting to the changes, he was suffering in midfield, whereas Remo Freuler helps out a lot more.”
Gomez took on Instagram sharing a series of stories, showcasing some of the moments that he has been back to support and help the midfielders over the last few seasons.
The Sky Sport reports that Gomez patched things up with the club’s President Antonio Percassi, but it is not possible to resolve ties with Gasperini.
Atalanta won't sell Gomez to series A competitors cheaply but are willing to sell him abroad if he needs to leave for a low price.
