Celtic have announced that one of their players has tested positive for COVID-19 after the controversial trip to Dubai.
squad were tested after their arrival to Glasgow and received the results with an unnamed player returning a positive test.
A club statement on Sunday afternoon read: “
Celtic today confirmed that one player has recorded a positive test for Covid-19. Clearly the player will receive all our care and full support
“All other members of our squad, management team and backroom squad are negative.”
The Scottish Champions were criticized by the supporters and the Government for taking part in the warm weather training camp. Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Surgeon has questioned whether they complied with social-distancing rules after pictures emerged on social media.
Assistant manager John Kennedy admitted there had been "slips" in terms of social distancing, but he insisted the club did everything possible to mitigate risks of catching Covid-19 on their training camp.
Celtic will take on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Monday.
