Sun 10 January 2021 | 11:40

According to a report carried by Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have given up the race to sign a deal with Inter’s Christian Eriksen, and Dane’s wages prevented his January departure.

The former

Tottenham

midfielder is desperate to find an exit route from the Italian side

Inter

where he arrived with a €27-million deal last year.

According to the reliable source Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have already withdrawn from the chase to sign their former player.

The Lancers wanted to bring

Eriksen

back to the club without paying his entire €7.5-a-year wages.

Tottenham boss

Jose Mourinho

is also interested in signing Eriksen and bring him back to the club, but Spurs do not intend to pay his entire salary.

There are no talks between the Italian side and Spurs and the player’s wages are preventing his move.

Inter are ready to sell the 28-year-old on a loan contract in the January transfer window.
