Zidane on the draw against Osasuna: It was not a football match

Sun 10 January 2021 | 9:19

Zinedine Zidane has expressed his frustration with the decisions made about their match against Osasuna.

Real Madrid

managed to arrive at Pamplona yesterday with a lot of difficulty and after a 4-hour delay at the Airport, to face

Osasuna

.

The pitch was covered in snow and it wasn’t clear if the match was going to take place or not but finally, it was decided that the match must go on as scheduled.

The two teams' efforts ultimately failed and they reached a goalless draw in snowy weather.

Angry about the decisions, Real Madrid boss,

Zinedine Zidane

said in the post-match press conference:

“We did what we could do on the field but it was not a football match.

“Clearly the match against Osasuna should have been postponed.

“The conditions to play football were not met, which in the end is what everyone wants. As much for us as our opponents."

When

Zidane

was asked about the tight schedule the Spanish FA has forced on the teams, he said:

“I'm not going to get into these things.

“We have done what they have told us, we have played and that's it.

“We have to think about recovering even if we don't know if we are going to go to Madrid tomorrow, if we are going to return on Monday. And on Wednesday we have another game."
