Emile Smith Rowe stated that his fantasy came true after featuring for Arsenal following an exciting evening on Saturday. Goals from him and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in extra time sent the Gunners to round 4 of the FA Cup.

The midfielder is having a successful season for the north London side. He helped boost the team into the fourth round of the

FA Cup

with a 2-0 victory over

at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Arsenal required additional time before seeing off the Magpies, with Smith Rowe's accurate shot into the corner setting the hosts on their way to the next round.

It was a significant event for

Smith Rowe

, as he received a direct red card in minute 90 by ref Chris Kavanagh for a tackle on Sean Longstaff, just for it to be demoted to a yellow card after reviewing the seen from VAR.

Smith Rowe confessed that he was relieved to see the red card toppled and then score the opener in extra time.

“I am really happy,” Smith Rowe said after the match. “It is a bit of a relief, as the incident before was not ideal. It definitely was not intentional so I am happy to get the goal and go through to the next round.

“We knew it would be a tough game. It was about breaking them down and we’re happy with the win.”

Smith Rowe has had an amazing run in the Gunners squad after Christmas.

“From a young kid I always dreamt of playing for this club,” he said. “All the young players, it is great to get opportunities so I am really happy to be playing for the club.”

Smith Rowe claims that head coach

Mikel Arteta

and his staff are trying to build a good relationship between the players off the pitch, and their efforts are starting to pay off.

“It shows how together we are,” the 20-year-old midfielder said. “We have been working off the pitch to get closer as a group and that is starting to show on the pitch.

“We are just happy to keep winning games and we have got to keep going.”
