Milan rebound from Juve loss by beating Torino

Sun 10 January 2021 | 5:03

Rafael Leao believes Milan gave the right response to their latest loss against Juventus by winning the match against Torino.

Rafael Leao

was on fire again this week and he scored the opener in a precious 2-0 victory against

Torino

, but he will be suspended for the next match against

Cagliari

.

“We lost the last game against a quality opponent like Juventus. This was therefore an important match for us to stay top and I think we gave the right response,”

the Portuguese striker told DAZN

.

“Our mentality is to always go out there for the win and stay top of the table. We did our duty, we won, the rest doesn’t matter.”

Leao was forced to change his role from a winger to a center-forward to fill the empty place of

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

and

Ante Rebic

as they were both out due to injuries.

“I am glad that I was able to help my team by scoring a goal, but the most important thing was that we got the three points.

“I am closer to the goal when playing as a center-forward, but I am also happy to provide assists for my teammates. It doesn’t matter where I play, I just want to help.”
