The Argentine helped his team with a brace against Granada while his future with Barca remains uncertain.

Barcelona

manager, Ronald Koeman, hopes

Lionel Messi

will extend his stay with Barca after his impressive performance in their win against

Granada

. The Argentine chose to stay with Barca despite revealing his desire to leave for another club, but since the start of the current transfer season he’s been free to talk over his future with other teams.

"Barca need Messi, we need him to achieve great things and fight for the titles,"

Koeman

said.

"With the score, we were able to make changes and rest very important players like Messi and De Jong.”

"If all the players are in good condition, we can compete for all the titles. This streak of results gives us a lot of confidence."

The Dutchman also talked about

Riqui Puig

, who has been frozen out by Koeman with only three La Liga appearances, adding:

"I have nothing against Riqui Puig."

"We have very young players like Konrad, Matheus and Junior who don't have many minutes, but you always think I'm talking about Riqui. I have no problem with him, we talk often. His future? He has to decide."

Antoine Griezmann

also commented on their win after scoring a brace, saying:

"We needed to win and get this streak going. In the second half our players were able to rest.”

"The goals? The goals are coming. We are gaining confidence."
