Sat 09 January 2021 | 19:52

Sergio Busquets hit the 600th appearances for Barcelona after Ronald Koeman picked him for the starting lineup against Granada

The 32-year-old who won a World Cup and European Championship with La Roja made his La Liga debut under Pep Guardiola in 2008.

Busquets has helped Blaugrana win eight

Primera Division

titles, six

Copa del Rey

s, and three

Champions Leagues

The Spain international began against Huesca on Sunday – Lionel Messi played his 500th

La Liga

match for Barca in that fixture – and will presently hit an achievement of his own in the 4-0 victory at Granada.

It will be Busquets' 396th LaLiga appearance, with the defensive midfielder having scored nine goals and gave 25 assists.

177 appearances for him in the Champions League, 64 matches in the Copa del Rey, 15 Supercopa de Espana matches, five FIFA Club World Cup games and three UEFA Super Cup appearances are the summary of the rest of his tally.

He is the fourth player to arrive at the milestone for the Catalans, after Xavi (767), Messi (752), and Andres Iniesta (674). Like Busquets, those players all moved on from the club's famous youth foundation

La Masia

Koeman's men earned their fourth progressive away success in the league against Granada. This win has decreased the gap between them and Real Madrid to two points, who play Osasuna later.
