defender is the latest victim of Covid-19. He tested positive today and is set to miss the next couple of matches. The Dutch international played a full 90 minutes in Juventus’ victory over AC Milan.

“Juventus Football Club announces that, during the checks provided for by the protocol in force, Matthijs De Ligt has emerged positive with Covid-19,”

read a statement on the club’s website.

“The player has already been placed in solitary confinement.”

The 21 years old defender, missed the start of the season after a should surgery in summer but ever since he got fully fit again, he started in all the matches possible for Juventus.

In all 12 matches in which de Ligt, participated, Juventus only lost one and made the back of the Juventus solid again after the shaky start to their new season. De Ligt is the second Juventus player to test positive for coronavirus in the space of a week after Alex Sandro returned a positive test on Monday.
