Crotone’s manager says Roma deserved to win

Thu 07 January 2021 | 8:52

Roma achieved a 3-1 victory on Wednesday at Crotone, thanks to Borja Mayoral’s brace and Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s penalty.

Although

Vladimir Golemic

scored a late goal for the hosts,

Crotone’s

manager,

Giovanni

Stroppa

, revealed his shame that his side couldn’t put more pressure on the Giallorossi in the second half.

“Roma certainly deserved this result,”

Stroppa said.

“Especially in the first half, where we didn’t show character.

“Some of them played with fear and it infected the team. We could have done better than we did, while Roma seem to have scored three goals from three chances.

“We reduced the deficit and it’s a shame we couldn’t make it 3-2. It would have been nice to give the match an awkward end.”

Crotone

sit bottom of Serie A’s table and they will face

Hellas Verona

away on Sunday.
