Memphis Depay wants to stay in Lyon until the end of his contract

The Dutch International has been linked to Barcelona. However, he wants to join there after his contract with Lyon expires in the summer.

Ronald Koeman

knew the Dutch International from before. Koeman coached Depay in the  Dutch national team.

The 26-year-old has scored 21 goals for the Netherlands and set the team at third place in the 2014 world cup in Russia.

He also scored twice in Lyon's 3-2 win against Lens and gained three points.

After Wednesday's win, he said:

"I'm happy here. We have a great team, I really like the president, we'll see what happens,

"The president and I know what happened in the last four seasons. Let's keep going and enjoy my presence. I might be here until the end of the season.

"Let's focus on Saturday's game, let's be happy, we have a great team."

He moved to Lyon in 2017. He had moved to Old Trafford in 2015 but managed to score only 7 goals in 53 appearances made.

In Lyon, he scored 64 goals in 155 matches and was an important factor to help the French reach semi-finals of the champions league last season.
