After having a rough start for the season, the Catalonians have decided to loan their player to Getafe until the end of the current campaign.
midfielder,
Carles Alena, has moved to
Getafeon a six-month loan after failing to play up to the standards of the Catalonians during this season. According to Ronald Koeman, the Spanish player had already asked for a move following his lack of game on the pitch.
The 23-year-old is expected to make his debut for Getafe on their Sunday clash with
Elche. Despite helping Barcelona to win their 26th La Liga title, Alena’s attempts to earn a spot on the team were blocked. And after he was offered a fresh start with
Real Betis, he has decided to join Getafe for more time on the field.
Though his future with Barcelona remains uncertain, back in November Alena admitted that he wishes to stay at Camp Nou.
"I want to stay, if it was down to me, I would stay here all my life,"
he said.
