Tottenham must not look too far ahead - Mourinho

Wed 06 January 2021 | 9:19

Mourinho urges his men to temporarily forget about their place in Carabao Cup final as they face battles in other competitions.

Goals from

Moussa Sissoko

and

Son Heung-Min

against

Brentford

sent

Spurs

on their way to Wembley, but Jose Mourinho says his side must put the Carabao Cup final in their back pocket as they head to busy fixtures.

They are now waiting for the outcome of the second semi-final between rivals

Manchester City

and

Manchester United

and the final match will be held in April.

And

Mourinho

says it is important not to look too far ahead even after leading the team to the Carabao Cup final.

"It’s a game that takes us to a final, probably, but I hope not, an empty Wembley final but of course I’m very happy. We’ve had London derbies and other games but this is the match that took us to a final,"

he

told Sky Sports

.

"The final is now in a pocket for three months, we have to wait for the final so we have to focus on what we have coming up. We have the FA Cup, the Premier League, the Europa League, so let’s forget the final for now. But when April arrives we have to be ready and to fight for the trophy.
