Premier League has been allowed to continue the games in England national lockdown, but the number of positive Covid-19 tests increased dramatically.

Premier League

announced that the tests of 40 players and staff members have been positive, which has been a remarkable statistic during a week.

The League has previously stated that these protocols meant that the games could continue, and players must have to test twice a week.

The results, recorded from December 28 to January 3, show that the statistics have increased compared to the previous week.

Although England has entered the National lockdown, unlike last season, they are allowed to hold the games.

Despite all of these, the Premier League insists on continuing the season as it was scheduled.

The Premier League, however, said:

"With low numbers of positive tests across the overwhelming majority of clubs, the league continues to have confidence in its COVID-19 protocols, fully backed by the government, to enable fixtures to be played as scheduled."

The players or staff whose tests were positive must self isolate for 10 days.
