The Catalonians presidential candidate believes choosing Laporta as Barca’s president could put the club in danger.

as the club’s president would threaten the future of the team. The two candidates are expected to compete for the spot on January 24th as they are considered to be the frontrunners in the race.
In an interview with
, Freixa said:
“The members know very well who Laporta is and how he managed Barça. He left a club with a debt of €450m and with an annual turnover below that figure. If Laporta is elected, the club will be in real danger.”
The 52-year-old Freixa, who was also a member of the boardroom at
before his exit in 2015, has been criticized for being a part of the club’s former staff but he has assured that his time as Barcelona’s president will be different from their previous experiences.
