Lazio’s defender has contributed €2.500 to help a delivery man

Mohamed Fares has contributed €2.500 to help a delivery rider who was robbed of his scooter on New Year’s Eve.

Gianni Lanciano, 52, is now a delivery man after losing his butcher job five years ago. During the New Year celebration, five people attacked him and stole his scooter.

According to several reports in Italy, a crowdfunding campaign has been set up on GoFoundMe and Fares has contributed €2.500. The campaign's target was €5.000, it has reached over €10.000 in a short time.

As the news became very viral in Italy, the Italian authorities quickly arrested the accused.

Gianni Lanciano had to use his daughter's car to continue his work.

"

I tried to defend something belonging to my family,

" he said.

"I am moved, but I do not want to take advantage of the goodness of the Neapolitan citizens."

Napoli fans supported Fares' benevolent action with several messages posted on his Instagram account.
