Sampdoria boss, Claudio Ranieri is happy with his team’s performance, despite the loss against Roma.

In a match in which heavy rain affected the tactical plans of both teams,

AS Roma

took the lead in the second half and with a goal from

Edin Dzeko

, they managed to beat

Sampdoria

.

Sampdoria boss

Claudio Ranieri

has talked about the match and his team’s performance.

“We tried to stop their players, we were supposed to hit them on counter attacks, sometimes we made it, sometimes not,”

Ranieri said

“Dzeko is a champion and we know it. We played a good game, but he is capable of scoring goals from nowhere and he once again did it.

“I liked our reaction, we took some risks, but we tried to score the equaliser, it means a lot to me. We made some mistakes, but Roma were focused and determined.”

The Italian faced his former team in today’s match:

“No fans mean no football, but that’s what we need to do now. Without them it’s more difficult. The comeback was not as special, only fans can turn emotions on.”

When

Ranieri

was asked about the club’s transfer plan in January, he said:

“I only had Quagliarella and La Gumina available since the beginning of the season. Manolo Gabbiadini has been injured and the same is true of Keita Baldé. They are the kind of reinforcement I expect.

“I don’t expect anything more from the transfer window. We don’t have to make important signings, we did it in August and I am happy like this.”
