Eric Garcia positive for COVID-19

Sun 03 January 2021 | 14:20

Manchester City have announced that Eric Garcia and another member of their staff have been infected with coronavirus.

It was in the past few days

Manchester City

announced that two of their players,

Gabriel Jesus

and

Kyle Walker

have been infected with coronavirus. On the other hand, the increase in the number of team members infected with coronavirus caused the Citizens' match against

Everton

to be postponed.

However, it seems that the nightmare at Manchester City continues as the club officially confirmed in a statement a few minutes ago that the Spanish defender,

Eric Garcia

and one member of their staff also tested positive for COVID-19.

The statement reads:

"Manchester City FC can confirm that Eric Garcia and one member of staff have tested positive for Covid-19.

"Both personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.

"Everyone at the club wishes our colleagues a speedy recovery ahead of their return to work, training and competition."

This happened while today,

Man City

have to face

Chelsea

at Stamford Bridge. Also in the last one or two weeks, the outbreak of the coronavirus in the UK has caused a great deal of concern and even rumors of a one- to two-week suspension of

Premier League

. However, no decision has been made yet and we will have to wait and see what happens in the coming days.
