The Atletico defender can accompany his team in the upcoming games from now on
FIFA has temporarily suspended the 10-week suspension ofAtletico
defender Kieran Trippier for taking part in betting.
After a year of investigation, the Atletico defender was suspended for ten weeks by the English Football Association for taking part in betting in 2019, when he played for Tottenham. After the verdict was announced, Trippier repeatedly insisted that he was innocent and denied the charges. The ten suspension games planned for him included his team's crucial games in La Liga and the Champions League, protested by Diego Simeone.
Marca has now claimed that FIFA has temporarily suspended the ban, calling it a requirement for the FA to provide Atletico Madrid with enough information. Thus, Trippier missed the opportunity to be on his team list for tomorrow's match against Alavés, but he is expected to play in the Copa del Rey match against Cornella.
