‘Buendia is totally committed to us’ – Farke denies a move to Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is eyeing Emiliano Buendia for recruitment but Norwich are keeping their midfielder.

Norwich City

head coach

Daniel Farke

is certain that

Emiliano Buendia

will stay at the club following

Arsenal

’s interest in the midfielder.

The 24-year-old has contributed to Norwich City’s victory over

Barnsley

by finding the target which saw them first on the Championship table.

The goal was added to Buendia’s tally and raised speculations surrounding a move to Arsenal, who are eager to sign with him.

Arsenal boss

Mikel Arteta

took an extensive interest in the 24-year-old. However, Farke has denied any speculations of a possible move as the Canaries are planning to keep his services.

Emi is a key player for us, an important member of the group, and he is totally committed to us,

” Farke said. “

He is our player and will continue to be our player - he is on a long-term contract with the club so we keep him.

“Everyone knows his qualities - and I don’t expect interest just because he scored a wonder goal today. He has scored a number like this for us and people know what he can do. It was an excellent finish and that is what Emi can do. He instinctively knows when to make a run and then has the quality to finish like that."

Arteta is aiming for a creative force to recruit in January as he also linked with Julian Brandt, Borussia Dortmund’s midfielder.

Norwich, on the other hand, are pushing for a comeback into the

Premier League

fight and Buendia is of crucial importance to them.

Norwich are sitting first on the Championship table, four points ahead of the second-placed Swansea and six points clear of Brentford in third place, who will have a match soon.

Arsenal, however, are sitting 14 on the Premier League table as they prepare to lock horns with

West Brom

on Sunday.
