Pochettino appointed new PSG manager

The Argentine has been appointed as Paris Saint-Germain’s new head coach and takes a managerial job for the first time since he was sacked by Tottenham in 2019.

, who was sacked on Christmas Eve.

Pochettino

spent two years as a player at

PSG

between 2001 and 2003, making almost 100 appearances for the club and won the 2001 Intertoto Cup.

Pochettino spent almost four years in north London and led Spurs to the 2019 Champions League final, but he was sacked with his side 14th in the Premier League table.

Now he has been tasked with leading PSG back to the French top flight’s summit and guiding them to glory in the Champions League.

Pochettino’s first game as PSG boss will be against 14th-placed Saint-Etienne on Wednesday.

PSG currently sit third in Ligue 1, one point behind leaders Lyon and Lille.
